Travel Towel Hacks
Why take Towels on your next Trip
A towel is a very incredible accessory you can take on your travel. I use a lightweight, 50/50 linen and cotton blend Peshtemal Turkish towel on my trips. They are considerably more absorbent than cotton.
It’s incredibly useful, packs down to a small size, dries quickly, and attractive enough to wear. 100% linen Peshtemal is a bit thicker but it also dries quickly.
5 Towel Hacks on Trips
Towels are versatile all weather multi-purpose fabric wraps.
As a Scarf
You can use your towel as a scarf if it’s dry.
As a Travel Blanket
Again when the towel is dry, it can be used as a blanket.
As a Sarong
For ladies, it can also act as a Sarong.
As a Tablecloth or Picnic Mat
When outdoor, use your towel as a tablecloth or picnic mat.
Emergency Curtains
Some places like hostels might not have curtains, there you can use the towel as a curtain for some privacy.
Sling for Arm Support or Carrying Baby
You can quickly make a sling from the towel on emergency needs.
Towels are Incredible
With a piece of simple towel, you can adjust it to your needs and use it for many other needs without carrying other clothes which perform only a single function and making your carry-on bag bulky.
Sure, towels don’t perform very well at above hacks but I figure it’s better to carry one multi-function cloth than many single-function clothes. Towels are the perfect solution, lightweight, and minimalist for me.
Alternative for towels
Instead of a towel, if you are going on a backpacking trip, you can also try taking foam pad. They act like a sponge. Other advantages of foam pad are that they provide cushion and they also dry quickly after rinsing.
