Up Your Style Game With the Best Travel Watch
Traveling around the world is both exciting and tiring at the same time. Not only you have to adjust to different climates, but you also need to track the time. Of course, flying from a country to a country makes this a tad more difficult. And that is where a travel watch comes in. With a good travel watch at your hand, you won’t ever again have to think about what time it is, regardless of where you are.
As a passionate traveler, I can’t go on any trip without bringing my travel watch with me. It makes easy work of tracking down the time zone, so I don’t have to bother with that. Plus, it adds a stylish touch to my outfit, which is kinda cool. So, my friends, let us see how we can find you the best travel watch and save your time.
Types of Watches
For those of you who are not very familiar with watches, you should know that there are three types of watches, based on their movements – quartz, digital, and mechanical (automatic) watches.
Quartz watches
Even though this might seem confusing (or at least was to me), a quartz movement is actually an electronic movement. Meaning, a vast majority of quartz watches are battery powered, and as such, they require low maintenance. You will need to change the battery every 3 – 5 years, depending on whether your watch comes with additional features (such as a stopwatch, electric illumination) or not. These watches come at an affordable price, are accurate, and more durable than their mechanical counterparts (due to few moving parts).
Mechanical watches
As you probably already know, a mechanical watch uses a mechanism in order to measure the time. Now, this mechanism can have from 50 to 300 parts, making this watch pricey and hard to take care of. This watch definitely requires your time and money, as you will have to take care of it regularly. However, if you take a proper care of it, you will have a mechanical watch that will be your lifetime companion. These watches are old-fashioned and are the perfect choice for those who appreciate the spirit of the old times.
Digital watches
These watches are made in such a way that they can store information by way of giving time in 24 hours format and displaying time in numerals. In addition, they usually come with a timer or an alarm, which is quite helpful, when you are traveling all over the world.
How To Choose a Travel Watch
Whether you’re going to the seaside, to the countryside, or to the mountain, these are the things to consider when choosing your travel watch.
Quality and durability
Well, if you want your watch to last you a lifetime, you will need to invest a considerable amount of money in it. So, look for a watch that comes from a trusted brand and is made of superior parts and materials, to minimize the cost of maintenance. In addition, you would probably want a sturdy watch that is hard to break, because you may accidentally damage it on the road.
Can it handle the water?
Depending on what you want out of your watch, you can find the waterproof or water-resistant one, so as not to think about whether a few drops of water can damage the unit.
Is it scratch resistant?
A watch is so much more than just a device for tracking the time. It represents style and authority. Because of that, you want your watch to shine like new even after years of use. So, look for a watch that features a scratch-resistant coating, to prevent the unit from scratching.
Design
Do you need a watch that will match with your suit and tie? Or perhaps, you need a watch to complement your casual outfit? When it comes to the design, you can choose a sports watch, a stylish watch, a diver watch, a smartwatch, and much more. Therefore, it is important to know what you need and want from your travel watch, so as to find just the thing you need.
How many watches should you take on your trip?
I am of the opinion that you only need two travel watches when traveling.
- Casual/Sports Watch
- Dress watch
Best Mechanical Travel Watch – Seiko Men’s Diver’s Watch (Dress)
As someone who loves a casual outfit, I need to have a nice, classy watch, and that’s why I love this watch so much. The Seiko Watches are one of the bests on the market, so this watch can’t disappoint. It has a mechanical movement, but it works without the battery, which is my favorite feature.
With a 42-case diameter, this watch is big enough to fit your wrist, yet is not bulky. Thanks to a stainless steel case, this watch is sure to last. In addition, it is water resistant to 200M so you can take it with you while swimming or diving.
As for the looks, you will love the black color and an eye-catching design, because your friends will envy you.
Best Digital Travel Watch – Casio Men’s G-Shock Rangeman (Casual/Sports)
This is my favorite sports watch, as it is perfect for outdoor adventures. This watch is extremely sturdy and can stand harsh condition. Meaning, it is mud, dust, dirt, and shock resistant so will be your companion on the trips for years to come.
It has a solar rechargeable battery, so charging won’t be a problem. Thanks to a battery level indicator you will know when you need to charge it. The battery life is approximately 7 months. With a full auto LED digital display, you will clearly see the time in the dark and during the day.
The watch also comes with a plethora of handy features, such as a triple sensor, four alarms, time stamp, sunrise and sunset date, to give you all the convenience you need.
Up Your Style Game on your Trips
And there you have it. With this buyer’s guide and my two favorite watches, you will choose the perfect watch for you with ease. With a good travel watch, you will be able to organize your time easily, because you will always know in which time zone you are.
Travel Briefcases are back in Style
In addition, choose a stylish travel watch, so as to always leave a good first impression, because, who doesn’t want to know a person that is well organized and keeps everything under control?
